This is probably one of the most decent sports themed (in the football realm of things) books I have read, as well as probably one of the most touching stories of growth written. Just reading about Zach's character and the genuinely kind man that is scarred from vicious words and a torrential childhood, broke my heat. His insecurities almost made me want to just hug the man and tell him that he is more special than he could possibly think he was. Even my heart broke for Kelsey's character. While her youth was misguided and it appeared that Karma reared her ugly head in her direction, I managed to feel proud of her in her journey to make amends with her past and with the one she knew she hurt the most. I truly rooted for these two throughout the book and was very pleased with the ending.Of course, I did feel that the story dragged a little in places, but my issue with that was quite mild once all the story was told. I will say that the bumbling ways of Zach really touched me to where I actually cried in parts of this book. Definitely recommendable to a friend and I do strongly urge for others to read this book!

Down by Contact Seattle Lumberjacks Book 3 edition by Jami Davenport Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Mean words never made anyone be friends, it only hurts them and yourself. Read how the mean person learned from her experience.
This was another cute and loving story regarding the Seattle Lumberjacks football team. It was a true love story between the selfish, privileged and the kind hearted gentle giant of a football player from the opposite side of the tracks. Truly enjoyed it.
This book was great on many levels. It presents a selfish, bitchy woman who learns to be kind and generous. And it presents a futbol player who transcends from being a bumbling oaf into a relatively civilized reasonable man, who does not mind showing his tender side. Kelsey and Zach do a lot of growing up and growing in love in this book and it was great reading.
I liked this book. Just an easy read. No over the top irritating characters. All were pretty interesting and they may already have their own books. I would read them if they did. And,wonder of wonders, no giggling or gushing. That loses several points in my book. The background of Zach did go on and on way longer than necessary, but I just kind of skipped it.
I love Jami Davenport's characters; she has a gift for creating heroes and heroines who immediately draw you into their story and won't let go. I thought Tyler from Forward Passes was my favorite hero until I met Zach in Down by Contact. A lumbering, talented, human and genuinely loveable football player you root for on the field and off. And Kelsie is a strong woman determined to make it on her own, despite all she has to overcome. This is a story about being true to yourself and others, no matter what life hands you. It's funny, touching, sensual and deftly told. A great book to curl up with and thoroughly enjoy.
Zach was the poor boy. Kelsie was the beauty queen. When they meet up again as adults, lots of things have changed, except Zach still holds a grudge for the way Kelsie treated him when they were in school. I have to admit, I wanted to slap Kelsie after reading some of the stuff she had done to Zach. Luckily, in the end everything works out. To think I cane into this book noir liking Zach, but after hearing his background, he quickly stole my heart.
Davenport sends a Seattle Lumberjack's linebacker to finishing school to learn manners, mid-season, and this story is off and running. Zach Murphy thinks he wants a Superbowl ring more than he's ever wanted anything but boy does he have lessons to learn, both on and off the field.
Kelsie, Zach's unobtainable high school crush holds all the cards when it comes to his heart, and his future on the team. Her task teach the big brute how to handle himself in Seattle high society, or he's off the team. Fate steps in and reverses their roles, and Zach teaches Kelsie a thing or two about affairs of the heart.
I couldn't put the story down. All the characters on the Lumberjack's team were painted with such vivid strokes I now consider myself an official fan. I will read more of this series - I want to read Tyler's story next.
If you like hot contemporary romance and love a good sport's story, then treat yourself to Down By Contact by Jami Davenport.
